During the Covid lockdown period Lisa and Jason were working extremely hard to ensure that the gym was safe and ready as soon as the government allowed us to open. This included building an incredible new mezzanine above the juice bar area the same size as the cardio area, giving so much more space for our members. Roly from RJC Construction worked tirelessly with Lisa and Jason to get the new area built and ready for use so we would like to say a big thank you to them for this!
This new area is now home for our resistance machines, cables and a brand new mats area for ab work or stretching. As well as this four of our kinesis stations can now be found here out in the gym so this pulley system can easily be incorporated as part of a workout.
Our cardio equipment has been spaced out to a minimum of 2 metres apart so members can safely use these.
We have also created zones along one side of the mezzanine where individuals or pairs can work out safely in their own space.
Downstairs is now completely dedicated to our free weights, dumbbells and cables and has had a shuffle around to ensure correct spacing between equipment. New mirrors going up by each squat rack and dumbbells also gives members more chance to ensure correct technique.
All four studios in use have been adapted for our current limited class numbers following government guidelines, meaning crosses on the floor at the allocated distance apart, taped off boxes for the instructor, a brand new extractor fan in the spin room to aid air exchange and new body weight stations in the kinesis room. Mirrors are also being put into the Mustang and Venom studios so that the instructor can face away from members whilst teaching, yet still see them to encourage and help with technique.
We have several guidelines in place that we are following to remain as safe as we possibly can for our members. These include pre-booking gym slots, temperature checks and hand sanitising upon entry, one way systems, and members sanitising equipment after each use as well as staff doing regular deep cleans.
