“I’ve been on a diet for two weeks and all I’ve lost is two weeks.”– Totie Fields

Does this sound like something you would say? Have you tried a fad diet, only to put most of the pounds back on afterwards? It is not only what we eat but times of day and portion sizes that all help towards losing weight, whether you are aiming to lose a stone or a few pounds.

Diets and fads are all very well but they won’t necessarily allow you to keep off the weight that you have lost. It is far better to do things healthily and steadily. Starting with either smaller portions, reduced alcohol consumption or swapping snacks for something more healthy, as this will help kick start you’re eating habits. But don’t forget experts say it takes about 21 days to create a habit and 6 months for it to actually become a part of your daily life, so don’t give up too easily.

If you would like any help with your nutritional intake, keep a food diaries for a week, making sure you are honest! (Yes, that means adding in those sneaky chocolate biscuits and bag of crisps!!) We can then help you assess your daily intake and offer small changes that can be made to help you lose or maintain weight and get you on track with your goal.

To make an appointment with one of our instructors for some guidance, just ask at reception and we can get you booked in and on track!
