Try these easy to make yet healthy burgers that are a great source of protein!
Ingredients (serves 8, adjust accordingly):
- 500g turkey mince
- 2 cloves fresh or 1.5tsp frozen chopped/dried garlic
- 1 slice wholemeal bread whizzed into crumbs
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 tsp fresh/frozen/dried basil
- Salt and pepper to season
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1tbsp olive or rapeseed oil
Method:
- Heat the oven to 200oC fan/180 oC/gas 6.
- Next, prepare the mince. Mix the turkey mince, breadcrumbs, basil, onion and garlic with the beaten egg and some seasoning until combined.
- Split the mixture into 8 even parts and shape into patties (with lightly floured hands if desired).
- Gently heat the olive oil in a non-stick pan and sear the patties on both sides until lightly browned.
- Transfer to a non-stick baking sheet and cook in the oven for 10-15 mins or until cooked through.
- Serve either with brown rice, noodles or salad.
