We are looking for TFD members who would like to take part in a team challenge. The annual Dragon Boat Race is being held on Sunday 8th September on the River Thames in Abingdon. No experience necessary, good sense of humour critical!
Dragon boat racing is an ancient Chinese tradition over 2000 years old and is one of Britain’s most competitive water sports. Each team requires 1 drummer + 16 rowers + 4 reserve rowers.
TFD are funding the entry fee of £450 so there is no charge to take part, however, Abingdon Rotary request that each team raise a minimum of £500 sponsorship for their chosen charities, so we will be arranging a couple of events to help raise funds.
